Thailand’s Prime Minister Shinawatra faces pressure over remark during a leaked phone call | DW News

Thousands of protesters march in Bangkok, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, less than a year after she took office. The crowds waved national flags and many wore yellow, which is the color of the opposition movement. They’re outraged over a leaked phone call, in which the prime minister was heard to disparage a Thai military commander, in a conversation about a border dispute with Cambodia. One political party has quit her fragile coalition, leaving her with just a tiny majority in the parliament. She also faces a separate constitutional court challenge in the coming week.
