The Cambodia–Thailand border has flared again in 2025, and the people caught in the middle are paying the price. Families have fled homes, schools have closed, and lives have been lost—yet Thailand’s government remains unstable, distracted, and unwilling to take responsibility.
In late May 2025, where the latest clashes began, Thailand has changed three prime ministers, According to AP NEWs.
on 29 August 2025, Paetongtarn Shinawatra was removed from office by the Constitutional Court. Later then, Phumtham Wechayachai served briefly as acting prime minister, and right after Anutin Charnvirakul took over on 5 September, only to dissolve parliament by December 11–12, avoid taking concrete steps to resolve the border crisis issue stating that he will return the power back to his people, according to his latest facebook post on 11 Dec 2025.
Due to Thailand political gambles for sole power of politic and to assert dominance toward their own citizen, Thai’s government prioritize engaging in war with Cambodia including Anutin’s decision to dissolve parliament which leaves many of innocent Cambodian people exposed to bullets, artillery, and uncertainty in which right now the total death of innocent civilian has gone up to 11 people including infant who were just born, according to the data by Ministry of Interior Cambodia.
The message is clear, Thailand does not prioritize peace. They prioritize self-gain by the erethic of “Nationalism”, when in reality, innocent people of both nation, military bleeding and leave family eternally.
